What's with the obession?

Maybe it's because I'm a girl I just don't understand, but what is with little boys obsession with all things crash-boom-hit-bang-capture-kill ???

To me this screams: time-to-call-my-sister-and-have-a-conversation! She's the perfect resource. She 1) has a son 2) is an awesome parent

But seriously, at home, Max is not exposed to the life of the super-hero other than a couple of books, so I know that he gets most of what he gets from school friends. It's quite the quandry really. Do you willingly introduce this subject matter, etc to your kids so that you are the one in control of the information--even though you don't like it? Or, do you let your kid be educated by their 5 year old friends and spend your days and nights trying to de-program them?

Our last trip to T.arget included Max "needing" Sp!derman: swimming goggles, diving toys, backpack, skateboard, thermos, lunchbag, ETC! He ended up with a plain red ruler and still declared it to be a Sp!derman ruler.

There must be tons of Moms out there that don't really like the whole Sp!derman deal, but they must be much nicer than us, because we just won't get it for him! It's wearing on us though, he's bound to crack us. And seriously, just like other topics that will come up in life, I would much rather us be the one he learns his information from. . . maybe I'll post and update later on this topic. . .
